Gratitude

If your everyday life seems poor, don't blame it; blame yourself; admit to yourself that you are not enough of a poet to call forth its riches; because for the creator there is no poverty and no indifferent place.
- Ranier Maria Rilke
I've been trying to live into this.  But it's hard!  We Americans (maybe others, too, I'm not sure) really like to blame other people.  But I'm trying to be grateful for every little good thing that happens.  I think it has to be a lifestyle.  One that you practice all the time.  So I'm working on it.

I didn't know you read Rilke! He is my favorite as of late. What else have you read of his?

umm....this is a quote I got from another book. I've never actually read a collection of his. I've been seeing a lot of his quotes lately though, and liking them, so I think I will find a book.

May I recommend 'The Book of Hours' and 'Letter's to a Young Poet.' They blow me away!
