Germaine Greer said, "The essence of pleasure is spontaneity." I'm not sure what I think about that. I know that it is mostly true for me, but I think there are people out there that are much happier with planned events. I've just been thinking about it.

For me the essence of pleasure is carefully planning something and savoring it for weeks before it happens - like vacation! Poring over the travel brochure and imagining the fun is part of the joy - it stretches it out.
